Violin Lessons
The violin, sometimes known as a fiddle, is a wooden string instrument in the violin
family. Most violins have a hollow wooden body. It is the smallest and highest-pitched
instrument in the family in regular use.
Children can start learning the violin as early as age 5. Beginning students will learn
proper bow-hold and bowing technique.
While the violin may seem like it is a relatively easy instrument to learn how to play,
many of those new to the instrument quickly discover that it is definitely much more
difficult than meets the eye.
From Classical violin to Celtic or country fiddling, the violin is a very rewarding
instrument to play.
Cello Lessons
'Cello' is actually only a nickname. It is the abbreviation of the full name violoncello,
which, in Italian, means a 'small large viol. '
Many beginning musicians wonder, “Is cello hard to learn?” The process of learning the
cello is not difficult, but it's important to keep in mind that the cello is not an instrument
of instant gratification. It does require focused, daily practice time and a good teacher to
guide you along the way.
The Cello is perhaps the most versatile of the string instruments. Quarter-size and half-
size cellos are available for younger children. Cello is taught from age 5 and up.
